Home and back at having fun with my Gypsy & Cricut!!

Hello Kitty Snowman and Christmas tree--boy those small layers can be a challenge on card size objects!

Here's the Christmas tree (a little blurry) with embellishment of buttons as ornaments.

Here's a haul of buttons I got in the dollar bin at Michael's in St. Louis--Mary at Cardz TV got some quite a while back and we didn't have them here in Huntsville AL--so I was thrilled when I found them in St. Louis!

Okay--back to the Gypsy--going to make some snow flakes--got some great plastic snowflake embellishments at Archiver's at St. Louis Mills--yeap--did a lot of shopping in St. Louis!

Well, hugs to all---
Linda

I know I said I wasn't going to post for awhile, but....

I told you I was letting my best friend use my cartridges while I'm out-of-town, well, she said to meet her and she would buy my lunch....and my daughter was with me too! So we met at our new Earth fare and it was yummy! Of coarse we went to Micheal's across the street first!

Well, this is my 'happy' friend, Shelly and me! She has about 3 cartridges, but for a week she has about 30! That's why she's so happy! She is a dear Christian friend that is so good to me!

Well, I'll be back making cards next week, but no withdrawls for me, I have a gypsy--that little Cricut is going to be buzzing when I get back with all the files I'll have ready to cut!

Going NORTH!!!!

Hugs,
Linda H

Hey, going to be away from my Cricut for a few days..

I'm going back to St. Louis (from Alabama) to see mom (89 and broke her hip almost 2 months ago), but I will have my Gypsy with me! I am taking my daughter with me and she will be driving alot of the way! That will give me time to play my DSi and play oh, I me plan some cuts for future projects!

I am loaning my cartridges (I have about 30--not so many to me--)to my best friend who just got her Cricut. She only has a few cartridges--so she's really cited!!!! This will let her decide which she wants to purchase and a chance to make some cards for OWH. It's a great project! I added a new button--for my Gypsy--I'm going to name her--any suggestions? Here's where you can get a Gypsy button.

I should be home Monday--so see you then!

Hugs--
Linda

New favorite cartridge.......

is Cindy Loo! Look at this cute Squirrel! Next time I'll use more exciting colors, but my daddy use to hunt and our squirrels were grey!!! I printed out 'I'm NUTS about you' on my computer and used a circle punch to cut it out! I tried to do it on the Gypsy--but I'm too slow, much too impatient and not sure I could have fit it in the small spot!

I posted this in an earlier blog, but I found I had not done the layer for the body of the BEE, so I cut it out, added it to the body and slopped on some of 'Arleene's Paper Glaze'! Much better!!

Thanks for stopping by! Oh, I love getting comments--leave me a note and let me know what you think--I love new ideas and hints and tips (and now that I have a Gypsy--I need alot!)

Hugs,
Linda

Been playing with my new gypsy...

I used Arleen's -whiny stuff (like Glossy Accents) to see if it was the same. Not quite as raised but $2.00 cheaper at Michael's per 2 oz!

I think I made my Bee and Honey thingy to big so made to cards and put the saying for the Bee on the inside!

The out side of my pop-up flower card--Love you bunches--on the inside I put--told you so!

Oh my gosh--what a great day turned out to be....

I got my Cricut Gypsy, a new solutions cartridge, Very Merry Tags, and the wonderful little cartridge CINDY LOO and 140 reward points....does it any better?

Any of you seen the new function on the Design Studio and Gypsy. You can Hide Contour and only cut what you want in one color and do it again and cut the rest another color! I'm not sure I explained that well (I'm so cited....as baby Laura use to say when she was little!)

I will probably be busy checking out the gypsy and adding my cartridges (lot to learn!)

I've been surfing YouTube again.....

and founds these cool pop-up cards(click on cool pop-up cards to see video)

I think I'm going to put a few flowers on the front and "Luv u a bunch" on the outside of the card....

and then put on the inside--'told you so!'

Now the one I made--I cut out like on the video--but I found several eight pedalled flowers that I think will work on the Cricut.

The one I think I will try first is on Forever Young, row 5, 3rd one over, using the shift and first function button. I'll do that this week and post a photo later.

Here are two father's day cards that Terry's getting tomorrow--Laura's is super dad (Terry has a beard and mustache)from Paper doll dress up

and the cup cake is an 'I love you' card from Indie Art.

Hope you like.

Hugs,
Linda

oh my gosh.....

For months I have been putting in an amount on Ebay of items I want and then I get off. I put in the maximum I will pay and then shut it down....well guess what I got for $95.00 with free shipping!

So my next trip to St. Louis, I will have something to play with! I'll need something so I don't watch my daughter drive....439 miles!

I was so surprized when I opened my email last night and it said I had won--and hubby didn't even care!

I saw the new contour button on the Design Studio and the Gypsy--mine is already in the mail! I'm so excited!

I will be accepting hints and site and youtube video addresses for help...so send me the best of the best!

Thanks to all--oh--I love comments!

Still at it.

Okay, I got this stamp, it's a Stampabilities. I had a 50% off coupon and finally the stamps weren't on sale for 20% off. It's called 'Le London Script' and it was $10.99. I also got some distressing ink--going to have to practice with that!
I used my new 'Forever Young' cartridge and made these flowers. On the one with the pink scalloped one I used the Martha Stewart opaque marker set and added dots.

The one with the yellow scallop I used a gold pen to make dots and used ink pads on the edges of the flowers. I used brads that I got from Hobby Lobby.

I think they turned out pretty cute. I'm going to cut an oval and add missing you or love you or something......

Well, let me know what you think!

Hugs,
Linda

I'm still having fun...

Well, one pix is too dark and ones is to light...sorry.
I used a mat from Just Because cartridge and the Strawberries are from Hello Kitty a size 2 1/2", 2 1/4", and a 2". The stamp my sweet one is from a Pink Stamper set. I ran the red of the strawberries throught the embosser with 'Swiss Dots'. This card will be going to Operation Write Home.

This is some shiny paper I got on clearance at WalMart this week. The design I cut from the cartridge Mother's Day 2010. I used the 'Textile' embossing folder on the light pink and the 'miss you' came from a Pink Stamper set. This will be going to Operation Write Home too.

Hope you like them....

Linda

Too rich, too pretty, too much fun...are those possible?

Well, this is too much fun! How could people not just love doing this? And I LOVE the Create-a-Critter Cartridge! My baby is 17 yrs old and didn't think I needed this cartridge--I WAS WRONG!!! Don't let that stop you from getting it!! It makes the cutest cards!

The next time I make this card, I will make the igloo and penguin a little smaller. I think I did this one at 3" and the Just Chillin' at 2" (the Just Chillin' might be wrong--I honestly don't remember and didn't write it down). I used a pink mat and a white one--which I ran through the embosser with the snow flakes. It's been in the upper 90's here and I think it made me feel cooler just making this card! LOL!

Tell me what you think!

Hugs,
Linda

My daughter's good friend's birthday is today...

Thank goodness she told me last night and is in Summer School until 4 today...so I had time to come up with a card. Little Lena (she is soooo pettite) is 17 today.

I put a mat on the top inside with my embossing 'happy birthday', but it didn't come out in the pix!

I embossed swiss dots behind the models...I used foam deminsions on both the girls and the swiss dot squares.

I used a Martha Stewart's edging punch (I got on sale at WalMart last night (WalMart is changing their scrapbooking area and have most their old stuff on clearance!) and I used the 'with love' embossing edge above the edging--I did a lot, but I don't think it looks like too much! What do you think?

Linda

What have I been doing....

Well, it's all about the Cricut and making cards! I so don't want to send it back and be without it....but I still have to fiddle with it to come on! But once it comes on, I am busy!

Friday, I went to my dear friend Shelly's house, such a beautiful, clean house, and we made cards! She just got hers not too long ago, because she had to keep listening (and reading my blog) about how much fun I was having! Now she is making the cutiest cards! She use to scrap all the time, and now I have her thinking about the soldiers and OWH and she want to make cards for them (plus she has a nephew in the Marines!), so I turn on another one to help our soldiers.

Some of you remember (I don't) what a sacrific everyone made when we were at war. No sugar, tires, gas. Women took over factory job. Mom said her friends could knit sock in the movie theater in the dark, and they would send the socks off to loved ones. We don't have that feeling now, but I can make cards. I know it's the right thing for me to do, because God is making me feel so good doing it!

So now I will show you all the cards I put together! They are ready to be finished! I feel like I accomplished so much! I'm going to do this from now on, have cards ready to complete.

Now, I did just cut and folded a bunch too!

And you know my friend Shelly. Well, I'm always talking about my dad (Happy 93rd Birthday, Daddy--I miss you!) and she's always talking about her mother, and all the work that she does for the Lord. And she said she was going to make her some note cards. Well, I don't think I've ever met her, but I feel like I know her, so I got busy last night and made her some note cards. I can't take the credit for the design of the luggage tag one, but just through the other one together.

And look what I used to make the envelopes (they came out a weird size), and I made the box too, with Martha Stewart's scoring pad! Mary, at Cardz TV showed it on her show, and I just had to have one. I have a Scor-Pal, but don't waste the $40 on that one, go to Michael's and get Martha's for $19.99 (and use a coupon--this week 50% off--you won't be sorry. Stores a triangle that let's you score for envelopes and has sizes of boxes to make! IT"S WONDERFUL!!!

Well, that's what I've been up to--what have you been doing?

Hugs,
Linda

I'm BACK!!!!

I saw this card posted on a discussion group and thought it was cute. It said "Your one of a kind", but I had a stamp that says, "there is no one like you"--which is kind of the same thing.

The apples and the oval are from the DOODLECHARM cartridge, which I haven't used much.

The apples are cut at 1" and the red ones are on one foam tape and the yellowish-green one is on two foam tape. I used the EK scalloped scallopes boarder punch and a circle punch to make holes.

I got the paper work to send the Cricut back, but I think it's a wire problem, because if I fiddle with the wire, I can get it to come on.....so while it's working....I'm cutting like crazy.

I'm going to send it back at the first of next week, so I can cut with it and then hopefully get mine back before the weekend!

So...until next time--this is my two new cards for OWH!

Hugs,
Linda

Sorry...

I've been sick...then Hubby got pneumonia, and now Cricut has to go to the Provo Craft hospital--I get a new one!

More to come!!!!
