I give up.....

oh...not on blogging--but I'm going to make a mini album! Then I think I'll make one for daughter and both her grandmas!

I'm writing everything down and will post pix and recipe tomorrow. I have a bind-it-all I've hardly used...so it will make hubby happy to see me use some of this stuff I seldom use.

I'm BACK......

Graduation is over....now we are dealing with a sleep disorder! When I was young, mom solve that problem by saying,..."close your eyes and go to sleep!" now they have DR's for it!

Here is the card I finished for Laura--hope you can see her nails have polish! Here school are the Patriots with colors of Red, White and Blue--that is what the front is (notice the pearls she wore!) She attended the larges high school in Alabama.

Now off to college--University of Alabama--Crimson and White-and black and white hounds-tooth.

And then a heartfelt verse:

My dearest Laura Lynn,

How do I say what I want to say in a small place like this. I guess if I haven’t said it to you by now, I should be ashamed.

Here is what I want you to know…

I pray I have given you knowledge that…..

Love needs to be given…
Life is to be lived…
Friends are gifts from God…
Family is precious…
And
God is to always be worshipped.

I have not been a perfect mother, but always know, you can’t do anything to make me love you any less (or any more). You have made me so proud to be your mother. I don’t know what good I ever did to be blessed with a daughter like you! I have prayed for you since the moment I knew you existed and will continue to pray for you until I have no more breath.

I love you Laura Lynn!

Mommy

I used a scrap of cardstock with the stars and 'punched' some stars and used 'accent glaze' on the punched stars.

I downloaded the 'houndstooth' on the intenet to use for the next 4 years of Laura's college.

The cartridge is Everyday Paperdolls page 46, but I used the a different hair to match hers. I don't remember where I got the diploma, letters or 'fly'.

Hope you like it--H {HUGS}--Storylady--Linda

Why I do this.....

to help others and now we all can help one lady!

Here is a post from Mary "Cardz TV", one of the most awesome ladies and teachers on the cards 'circut'!

Prayers and Cards for Krafty Katsy
Hi everyone,
Unfortunately, our friend, and fellow papercrafter, Krafty Katsy, has had a recurrence of cancer, and needs our prayers and get well cards. Kat has been through so much battling leukemia, and now with an old cancer returning, as well, she really needs encouragement from all of us to keep fighting. She's a strong lady, and I know it would mean the world to her, to know that we're all praying for her, and remembering her with get well cards. Her good friend, Julie, from readysetstamp.com, is going to put together a box of our cards for Kat, each week, and get them mailed to her. Thank you, Julie! Let's flood Kat with cards, and keep her in our prayers, guys! Just leave me a message in the comment section, and I'll send you Julie's address for mailing your cards.

Thanks so much, everyone! God bless you!

Hugs,

Please go to her blog:

Cardz TV

and ask for the address and do what we do.

Here are pix of the card I'm sending.

Believe it or not--these are 'digi' stamps I downloaded and not one cricut cut--good thing, our electric went out for about 1 1/2 hours--but I had already printed everything off--even the papers are from a digi download! Our electric is still very unstable! But I won't complain--we have it most the time!

Let's all flood her with love, prayers and cards!

Guess what I got yesterday.........

Yep--my new Crickie---as I call it or Cricut Expression 2 as it is actually called--it is so cool!

This is the graduate I'm going to use for my daughters graduation next Tuesday--I can't believe it--where did the time go? It is a sparklie blue gown.

This is for Laura's boyfriends sister, Emily. She just graduated from University of Alabama-Birmingham! She was offered a job of the hospital there in Birmingham, and decided to stay there--she must be really good, because they can offer any of the nurses a job and they picked her! Don't you love the brads I found for the nurse! Can't even remember where I got them. If I see them again---I'll let you know. The package says, Brads Eyelet Outlet--12 nurse brads--and I think it cost about $3.00. I'm thinking about just giving her the rest--since I don't know anyone else going into nursing--maybe I'll pull our a couple........

Haven't got the cards done yet, but boy, got lots of them to do, since dau has lots of friends!

Back to Crickie--Got lots to do!!!

Making a bunch of these...

I just really like the colors and the flowers in the pot. It's from the Freshly Picked cartridge and the layers of scallopped ovals are from the Forever Young Cartridge (weird--huh!)

These next two are from a Digi download--I also downloaded some papers, which I love, and some great Bible verses and great Christian sayings--you'll be seeing more!

Elecricity is a good thing.....

Please, please pray for the people of ALABAMA! Half the town where my daughter is to go to college next year is GONE! And now I'm feeling guilty because my only cross to bare was not having electricity, so we went 100 miles away to Birmingham and stayed in a motel for 4 nights and when we got home, we had electricity. Thanks for those of you who are praying and if you can send financial help to these people that have lost EVERYTHING, they will appreciate it!

I made Mother's Day cards (and Grandma cards) with my new Chomas Creations mini gel pens.

The Pink card & the Blue card are for my mom (pink) & Terry's mom (blue--sorry for the blur in the pix) and are cut from the A Childs Year. The sentiment is from the Mother's day Cartridge 2010.

I made both Grandma cards alike. I used the Lacy Labels Lite Cartridge. I combined two to put the Love You in the center. And, the Grandma was drawn with the gel pens and using the Mother's day 2010 cartridge.

This was quick--but still haven't gotten back to normal!

{Hugs to all} Don't forget to tell all your loved ones that you know them--we never know when it's going to be the last time we see them.

Bless you all--Storylady--Linda

Sorry I haven't been on lately....

we lost power on Wed nite after tornados went through our area. Publics ran on limited power--no deli foods, gas was almost impossible to find and when you did, the lines were ungodly! We went to Birmingham and we were just north of it when we found our first reasonable gas station. We stayed in a motel and came home today. We are so spoiled and with Terry's heart condition, I didn't want to take any chances!

I took pics of some new cards, but gave camera to Laura (dau) who went to help her boyfriend pack up in Tuscaloosa. They are still in a little shock.

This tragedy has brought the best out of good people and the worst out of bad people. Goodness and good acts are not getting you to heaven. Please, you good (or bad) people get to a Bible based church, find a minister and find out how to be forgiven and steps needed to get to heaven. Jesus died for all--it's a gift--take it! We could be looking at the end of times--Christians will be gone and the earth will be covered by evil people.

Guess this condition has effected me too!

Love and peace to all!
