Two more for my mother-in-law.

I don't know if I explained it or not, but my mother & father-in-law are basically home bound. He can't drive anymore and she never has. So she sent Terry and my birthday cards late and apologized that they where late, because she couldn't get to the store in a timely manner to get cards. I sent her a birthday card and made one for Laura to send to her, and she just went on and on about they where the most beautiful cards she had ever seen, I do believe she might have been crying on the phone. So the 'ol light came on and I thought--who else better for me to make an assortment of card for the year. We have a new Big Lots opening up in our town and they had a perfect box for A2 card with a snowman on it! I know it's the right thing to do, because as my daughter said many years ago, 'I know it's making God happy--I can feel God smile in my heart!' (She's so sweet--even at 18!!!)

So this beautiful bird card is from the Straight from the Nest cartridge. I really have to use it more. It's the one I had to buy at full price--an HSN exclusive. The sentiment is a stamp I bought. It's a Justrite stamp with changeable sayings and changeable boarders. I bought a 1 3/4" circle punch and made scallops on the Cricut. I tried center point on the Expression, but I couldn't get it to look perfect! I have a 2 in boarder I bought too (I think there are about 6 or 8 of them) so I need a 2 1/4" punch too, but I don't think there's one in this town--so I have to order one--you can use nestabilities (?) to--but I don't have any and I think the punch is easier than dragging out the cuttlebug! Just me!

The other card is from Pagoda cart and I just love the way it turned out. I think the paper choices can make or break the card (and alot of it is just personal preferance) and I think I hit this one! Again, I used the template on the Gypsy and sized everything so I don't waste time or paper.

Well, still have lots to do--and the ideas are spinning in my head!!!

Until next time--Be blessed and stay blessed!

Hugs--
Linda

Remember, I love comments!

I've been busy and my internet was down!!!

I have a niece that has twins, one of each. Brianna's Birthday is Oct 30 and Bradley's is Oct 31--so he got the halloween birthday card.

This is from the Rock Princess cartridge--perfect for a 14 year old girl!!!

This is a similar card I made before, but I added flying bats and 'dripping blood' (Martha Stewart 'drippy goo' ?? punch) to the card. Inside I added a spider web and spider. I was going to make a holder for the card, but it came on a cardboard thing that you write down their name and the amount and who it is from, so I just added some adheisive and there you go! This came from the Paperdoll dress up.

Hope they like these! They were really fun to make. I used my Gypsy, and I have a template I use on the A2 cards--one tall--one wide, it really helps me size them before I cut. I have the Expression, but also have the bug and use it most of the time (unless I need a bigger size or need to use the center point.) All the other stuff I can add with the Gypsy--I also have the Design Studio on my computer--but use the Gypsy more now.

I'll post the other cards later.

Hope everyone is well!

Hugs--
Linda

I love the doily card on Wild Card....

and recently made these as sympathy cards for sisters that lost their mother. Dolores Smith was a wonderful woman, treated my daughter like her own grandaughter and touched our lives with her wonderful spirit.

Her one of her favorite songs: I'll fly away--that the butterflies and word fly.
One of her favorite verses: 1 Thesolonian 5:16-17
She loved flowers and makes me smile when I think of her.

Her battle is over with cancer and her reward is great. Not goodbye my sweet Dolores--just see ya later!

Hugs to all,
Linda

I needed a thank you card....

for Laura to send to her grandma for a B-day present. She LOVES cats and I thought the 'Purrfect' would be good for thank you for the cute blouses she got. The cat is from the Cindy Loo cartridge and the Purrfect is from the Create a critter cartridge.

And the sewing machine is for me to write a note to my mom. She is a retired alterations woman for a wonderful boutique for over 30 years! The sewing machine came from the Heritage cartridge and the buttons are from a punch I got at the Archivers in St. Louis.

I'm back....

I need to take some pictures, but wanted to touch base. Dolores has made heaven a better place to go. She lost her battle with cancer on 10/1/10. I will miss her and her smile on her face when she would see me around town.

I had made some sympathy cards for her daughters (one is my dau's boyfriends mother) but after the 'celebration of her life' (not funeral) I made it personal, including one of her favorite verses, butterflies, flowers and one of her favorite songs "I'll fly away'. I'm very please with end product. It is a statement of who she is in my heart.

I also have had a bout with what I think was food poisoning. Feeling better, but a rough week.

I will get them posted later this week.

Hugs to all,
Linda
