Still here.....

between trips to Tuscaloosa and shopping for college stuff---I have managed to do some cards.

This is from the 'Give a Hoot' cartridge which I thought was so cute and wanted for so long---but haven't used much. This card is the example in the front of the booklet.
This is the owl on page 28 and I use the Give a hoot saying on this page too.
The leaf boarder came from page 31 of the same cartridge.

I wanted to make some 'masculine' cards and I think this works.

This is called the "Cotton Blossom" from the Picturesque Cartridge. I love the look of it and used the fancy 'boarding' from the Storybook Cartridge.

A few punched flowers from my 'mini' EK punch set.

Old timie car from Wrap it Up cartridge page 42 and....

golf clubs from page 52.

I got some cards done.......

Been so busy with college stuff, I haven't been posting, or even making many cards. Here's a few I finished up today......

A belated birthday card for my sister. I used the Country Life Cartridge on page 58. I wish I could take credit for the idea, but I saw it on Youtube and sorry to say I don't remember who did it. I used some 'digi paper' that I downloaded from SassyDesigns and they've got some sales going on now!

Here is a father's day cards I copied from Cardz TV with Mary. I just used the Sea Gulls on mine and I didn't have a punch so I used a design on Storybook cartridge and used the CENTER feature on the new Expession 2--boy--it was easier than the old expression! Got it centered on the first try. This will be for Terry's day. Gotta make one for me and one for Laura for her Paw-Paw! The cartridge is Life's a Beach.

I made some quick thank you cards for Laura and didn't even use the cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by....Have a blessed day!

A sympathy card and Valentines card

A genealogy friend and cousin lost his wife last week. They had a rare, close and loving relationship and he is going to need lots of prayers to deal with his loss. I made this card for him.

My inspiration was a card by Tammy E. with a few tweeks of my own. She is such a wonderful Christian example of how cards can be used to pass on the love of Jesus Christ. Thanks again Tammy for your beautiful work and your loving soul!

I used paper from a pack that my friend Shelly had given me a while back
the card base was cut from A Childs Year (card function 3rd row-7th button over-3.7)--cut at 5 1/4 in.
I printed the words off the computer and used the center cut on the expression (sorry--I forgot what I cut it at) with the scalloped oval from Forever Young

I got a new butterfly punch from Martha Stewart (at Michaels) and used a 40% off coupon so it was under $6! It has one small butterfly and two smaller ones--I love it.

I used my Irock and was having trouble--then realized the batteries where going dead-dah!
I used the Mother's Day Bouquet to make the little flowers.

I couldn't sleep last night so I designed this card on my Gypsy (love that little tool and just got the 6 foot cord that connects to the Cricut--nice!

Here is the card I designed about 3am! Love the pop-up

Here is the card I designed about 3am! Love the pop-up

The front I used the two backgrounds from Storybook and the Hugs & Kisses from Wild Card. I used the lips and the "Smack" from Indie Art.

Thanks for stopping by and leave a comment if you have the time.

A new tecnique and a new cartridge

I've never made a 'pop-up' card and this was SOOO easy and I love the surprise on the inside! I learned a little--I'll add layers before I cut-out the pop-up spot. I may make one with a action wobble too.

On the outside I used the mats from Storybook cartridge and the 'birthday girl' from that cartridge too--my favorite birthday sentiment.

I can't remember exactly which cartridge I used for the cupcake--but I looked at them ALL!

This one came from Pictuesque cartridge. Love the layering and the corners!

I also got Freshly Picked--one of my new favorites (how many times have I said that?)!

Thanks for stopping by--love it or hate it--leave a comment!

I Love the new Mother's day Bouquet.....

I really didn't know about the challenge at Cricut Cardz Challenge until I was just 'surfin' the net' with my card blogs and realized I had just made a card that fit the requirements.

I used the thingy on Storybook & flowers from the new soloutions cartridge Mother's Day Bouquet. Used my I-rock to add some bling. Also cut a layer for the flower out of a OLD encyclopidia page (rescued from a re-sale store--$.50--)

The card is much prettier than the pix.

I had to wait to post this until after Laura's B-day.

but her Birthday was Sunday. Eighteen! How did that happen? We have set-up some guidelines, but are giving her much more freedom with her choices.

Now for her cards. One from Dad and one from moma. The scalloped cards are cut at 5 1/2" from the Paisley cartridge, page 48. It is a perfect A2 fold. (4.25x5.5 card)
The large hearts are a Martha Stewart punch and Birthday Girl from Storybook with the shadow.

Dad's card was a copy of a card on Cardz TV with Mary--thank you Mary--this was PERFECT for my Laura--from her dad--a history there! The shoes are from Paisley cartridge--so easy to layer. The saying I got from Mary. The saying is: 'Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world'. I love it! Dad wrote he's given her what he could, the rest is up to God. or something like that! He's been one of the world's best!

My girl is her own person--loves to dress up.....and down! She loves cupcakes and we have a new cupcake shop here in Madison. Gigi's--and she picked out here own assortment for her Birthday Celebration. VERY GOOD!

Her card had 'Birthday Girl' from Storybook. And a cupcake and girl skull (with pink bow) from another new cartridge, Rock Princess. The surprise is the University of Alabama color scheme. Bear Bryant black houndstooth and Crimson red. Roll Tide!!!

Thanks for looking. Leave those comments--love them!

I got part of my job done...

I got all 12 of the "R" note cards done.

I tied the bow with my new bow-easy! And yup--pretty easy--but most of all--took most of the stress away!

I made the box with the Martha Stewart Scoring pad. I love it. So much cheaper than the Scor-Pal (which I also have) and has the measurements for boxes and envelopes--so cool!

Lid of box and cards (12 plus envelopes). Made the envelopes with Beyond Birthdays cartridge.

Added a little bling with my Irock!

I used the Storybook cartridge for the R (short) and also the scallop.
