Pagoda, I luv u!!!

I have to admit, I haven't used all the cartridges I have to there potential, but I've really wanted to get into the Pagoda cartridge, so I did yesterday, and boy, I had fun and still have some ideas going around in my head for some other ones.

The first and second cards are from page 31. I love this tree and was going to use it solely, but then added just a bit. Just a small bow on one and a butterfly punched from a Martha Stewart punch--I believe this is the small butterfly punch.

I cut the tree @ 4" and used just scrap paper I had used on other projects.

This tree was on the next page--45 and I again cut it at 4" and used the same punch.

I love pandas and cut this one from the same cartridge on page 36 at 3 1/2". I didn't even try to glue the little eyes on, I used a white gel pen and add a tweak on the ears too (I love my white gel pen). I cut the bamboo from poage 48 and cut them at 4" and used a pattern paper as the highlighted section.

I want to make the fans and some of the branches too. If you have this cartridge--pull it out and see what you can do with it--and let me see them too!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave me a comment!

I have been busy.....

guess I'll start posting some of my pix.

A lady that Terry worked with years ago in St. Louis, before they closed the base and most of us moved to the Huntsville, Alabama area, is going to retire. So I made her this card.

I got a new Martha Stewart punch that makes the 'lacey look'. I love it and have been punching all different colors so I would have them ready. I love her punches, they are easy to punch. I have arthritis and have trouble with some of them.

I used the butterflies on the Paisley cartridge on page 48. I think I cut the flower at 3" and the butterflies at 1" on the front and 3/4" on the inside. I used the flower on page 53 on the Pagoda cartridge.

I had a Celebrate stamp that I used on the front and finished it with a sentiment I printed off on the computer.

I love the pink and brown together.

Two more for my mother-in-law.

I don't know if I explained it or not, but my mother & father-in-law are basically home bound. He can't drive anymore and she never has. So she sent Terry and my birthday cards late and apologized that they where late, because she couldn't get to the store in a timely manner to get cards. I sent her a birthday card and made one for Laura to send to her, and she just went on and on about they where the most beautiful cards she had ever seen, I do believe she might have been crying on the phone. So the 'ol light came on and I thought--who else better for me to make an assortment of card for the year. We have a new Big Lots opening up in our town and they had a perfect box for A2 card with a snowman on it! I know it's the right thing to do, because as my daughter said many years ago, 'I know it's making God happy--I can feel God smile in my heart!' (She's so sweet--even at 18!!!)

So this beautiful bird card is from the Straight from the Nest cartridge. I really have to use it more. It's the one I had to buy at full price--an HSN exclusive. The sentiment is a stamp I bought. It's a Justrite stamp with changeable sayings and changeable boarders. I bought a 1 3/4" circle punch and made scallops on the Cricut. I tried center point on the Expression, but I couldn't get it to look perfect! I have a 2 in boarder I bought too (I think there are about 6 or 8 of them) so I need a 2 1/4" punch too, but I don't think there's one in this town--so I have to order one--you can use nestabilities (?) to--but I don't have any and I think the punch is easier than dragging out the cuttlebug! Just me!

The other card is from Pagoda cart and I just love the way it turned out. I think the paper choices can make or break the card (and alot of it is just personal preferance) and I think I hit this one! Again, I used the template on the Gypsy and sized everything so I don't waste time or paper.

Well, still have lots to do--and the ideas are spinning in my head!!!

Until next time--Be blessed and stay blessed!

Oh, I had the best Birthday ever.....

spent the day just talking and using my new lil Cricut and working on a card (hubby asked me to make) and eating two of my very favorite things---pizza and cheesecake with cherries! And then a beautiful handmade card from my best friend Shelly and presents--a birthday bag full of awesome papers and some bling ribbon and white ribbon with black pokadots (perfect--I had black ribbon with white pokadots--but not visa versa!)

And then the Pagoda cartridge that hubby got me was in the mail! And dd Laura took me to see the Eclipse (twilight series) movie after a wonderful shrimp dinner at our new Cheddars with hubby and daughter! Dear Dau got me the new book on cd of Stephenie Meyer (author of Twilight series) the short second life of bree tanner! Will be listening to that. She reads alot so I made her a rather big bookmark. She loves Japanese food and their culture--so this was off the new Pagoda cartridge.

And I finished a card Terry asked me to make for a fellow workers who's mother is in the hospital. I saw one like this on someones blog, and of coarse now I can't find who's! If it is yours, let me know and I will give a link and give you credit--I don't steal--I give credit where credit is due--and this is not my original idea. I did add some of my touches and a stamp on the inside. I really like how it came out and I think will make some extras to have just in case!

I got the flowers off of Sweat Treats cartridge and the vase off of Walk in my Garden cart. The leaves where a touch I added, from another new cartridge I just got, Accent Essentials. I added a tag too, from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More (which is being retiring and I advise everybody to get this--it is my go to when I need some special touches on a card!) and a stamp that says 'get well soon'. I added dots with my gel pen. Terry said she likes flowers, so that is why I made this one.

I forgot to mention that Shelly had printed off a Hobby Lobby & Michaels coupon, so before we met hubby for dinner, we ran (or I scooted -- I use a scooter!) into Michaels and I found the Butterfly stamp/punch of Martha Stewarts that I wanted--and some journaling stamps I have been looking for--never thought of looking in the Martha Stewart isle--always looking in the stamps isle! Duh! So I got 40% off my Butterfly punch/stamp. Three different stamps of Butterflies--Look at Laura's bookmark and you will see all three! I colored them in and I think they look cute!

Well, I might try and take some pictures of my new papers later.

Thanks for stopping by and I love comments!
