I had to wait to post this until after Laura's B-day.

but her Birthday was Sunday. Eighteen! How did that happen? We have set-up some guidelines, but are giving her much more freedom with her choices.

Now for her cards. One from Dad and one from moma. The scalloped cards are cut at 5 1/2" from the Paisley cartridge, page 48. It is a perfect A2 fold. (4.25x5.5 card)
The large hearts are a Martha Stewart punch and Birthday Girl from Storybook with the shadow.

Dad's card was a copy of a card on Cardz TV with Mary--thank you Mary--this was PERFECT for my Laura--from her dad--a history there! The shoes are from Paisley cartridge--so easy to layer. The saying I got from Mary. The saying is: 'Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world'. I love it! Dad wrote he's given her what he could, the rest is up to God. or something like that! He's been one of the world's best!

My girl is her own person--loves to dress up.....and down! She loves cupcakes and we have a new cupcake shop here in Madison. Gigi's--and she picked out here own assortment for her Birthday Celebration. VERY GOOD!

Her card had 'Birthday Girl' from Storybook. And a cupcake and girl skull (with pink bow) from another new cartridge, Rock Princess. The surprise is the University of Alabama color scheme. Bear Bryant black houndstooth and Crimson red. Roll Tide!!!

Thanks for looking. Leave those comments--love them!

I'm busy....

but wanted to get these posted!

I am making a couple of Birthday cards for my mother-in-law and need to get them finished, but have a new FAVORITE cartridge. I never (unless it's an exclusive--like HSN) pay full price--I buy online or ebay....but HAD to have the Lacy Labels from Walmart! I'm so glad I did! I can see me using this alot in my card making.

I've been asked to make cards for a friend who does missionary work in other countries and she's having a silent auction--so I'm making cards for her.

Dear hubby sold one of my cards at work and now have a lady that wants a birthday card and some note cards.

I'll post more when I get caught up!

Thank you again Tammy....

I've always loved the rose on Indie Art cartridge and I love the colors that this card used.

I didn't emboss anything, but besides that, I through the kitchen sink at this one.

I used glossy accents on the rose and frame--I really missed using my DS/or Gypsy!

I used a frame on Cindy Loo--didn't even know they where there!

Thanks for stopping by and I love comments!

A Birthday Card...

for my dear friend. I made it into a 'gift card holder' (Michaels) with just a few slits! She scrapbooks, so I know she will appreciate the time it took!

Love you Shelly!

I've been busy.....

Feeling better and running behind!

So I wanted to get some Birthday Cards done in advance, so I used my new favorite thing.....centering sentiments that I run off of the computer!!!

And then used one of my favorite cards....the S-fold card. You just have to be picky on the phrases and verses you use, because there is not alot of space for them.

The only difference is one has the word sister in it. That one is for a dear friend at church who calls me her sister (through the family of Christ our Savior)! The other difference is I increased the size of Happy Birthday--had more room than I thought. Oh, and forgot--I highlighted the flowers edge--as I did the did slightly on the edge of the sentiments.

Terry, my dear hubby, bought me a huge pack of all different colors of cardstock--from Hobby Lobby, I think. It has a HUGE hue of colors--I just love it. I cut one of each (they are 8 1/2 x 11), to have cards ready to make in a hurry.

I learned something new...

But first I'm going to keep my promise and give the imformation on this card.

This is the Doily Card on the Wild Card Cartridge page 52.
I used K&Company paper-Designer Paper
cut card @ 4"
cut env @ 4" (shift)
cut frame @ 4" (frame)
cut liner @ 4" (liner-shift)
cut liner @ 4" (liner)

I had seen that on a Cricut Expression, you can center something and draw a design around it....it scared me, but I thought..self--what the heck--I waste one sheet of paper....so--it worked--well, not exactly--I always forget that the cricut cuts landscape...so once I turned the paper (it does have a button I could have used to do it portrait) it worked PERFECT!!! I'm going to be using this alot--

I used it on the front with the Happy Birthday

and then for the verse on the inside.

I used CK Calligraphy, size 16 in black. I did shadow the print-outs with a teal and a black.

The envelope had a liner also, that looked great....

and the double sided paper with differenct colors added some zing!

If any of you have the Cricut Expression and have not tried this...I recommend it HIGHLY!!! I have trouble cutting words out--they always tear and I don't get the right size....and I don't have alot of stamps--I new at this and just starting out--so this is GREAT news for me!

A Hoppy Birthday Card.....

Couldn't find a frog--so I used this cute little grasshopper and embelished with my light green stickles.

This is for our youth pastor at church. Just got the google eyes at WalMart! I really like what it does to this little guy!

I think he'll get a kick out of it!
